What is the best time of the day to apply StimBlue+ by spray?
It is recommended to apply StimBlue+ in the morning or late evening when there isn’t too much sun or humidity. In case of anticipated stress (e.g., heatwaves, drought, hail), apply StimBlue+ 3-4 days ahead of the event.
How long can I store StimBlue+?
Stability guaranteed for use within 2 years from the date of manufacture under recommended storage conditions in its original, unopened packaging as provided by Kelp Blue. Proper storage conditions help maintain its quality and effectiveness.

On which crops can I apply StimBlue+, and at what growth stages is it most effective?
StimBlue+ can be applied to any crop, though it delivers its highest impact on six groups: berries, orchard crops, vineyards, leafy vegetables, tubers and cereals. Spraying StimBlue+ during the flowering stage increases pollen volume and germination, ensuring optimal pollen tube growth. The bioactive compounds in StimBlue+ enhance pollen germination and pollen tube elongation by providing nutrients and/or regulating gene expression, thereby optimizing fruit production. This feature is key under heat stress as heat stress induces abnormalities during pollen development and reduces pollen number, viability and tube growth. In a nutshell, StimBlue+ prevents pollen damage by improving metabolism (availability of food resources) and maintaining metabolite homeostasis under environmental stress. Polyamines in seaweed-based biostimulants are crucial for several development processes, namely flowering, pollen maturation and germination. Pollen production, germination and elongation are the most temperature-sensitive stages of plant development and are expected to be significantly impacted by climate change, which can affect crop productivity. Drastic temperature variations affect pollen quantity/quality, the architecture of cell walls and pollen metabolism. Not only temperatures, but pollen grains are greatly influenced by nutrient availability, which affects pollen grain development. Excessive use of fertilizers is causing ecological problems, such as a global decline in pollinators, leading to reduced pollination, lower seed production and low-quality seeds. Thanks to its strong antioxidant properties, StimBlue+ counteracts ROS-induced oxidative stress in pollen growth and development. How is StimBlue+ different from other seaweed biostimulants on the market?
To date, over 11,000 species of seaweeds have been identified, yet only 32 are farmed at scale. These species are the focus of most research, particularly regarding their chemical composition and its commercial potential, as well as their environmental and economic viability, scalability, processing methods, and harvesting techniques. In agriculture, three seaweeds are most commonly used: Ascophyllum nodosum, Ecklonia maxima and Macrocystis pyrifera. StimBlue+ is derived from 100% cultivated Macrocystis pyrifera (Giant Kelp). Macrocystis is regarded as one of the most complete seaweed species worldwide, valued for its rich spectrum of bioactive elements, exceptional growth rate and capacity to absorb and retain CO₂. The polysaccharides, pigments, polyphenols and various nutrients in StimBlue+ act in synergy to stimulate the plant and up- or down-regulate key components of crops’ development, leading to tighter interactions between plant and soil components, supporting crops’ resistance to abiotic stress and increased yields. Kelp Blue cultivates Macrocystis pyrifera off the coast of Namibia. With less temperature variation and more space to grow the kelp forests, offshore farming leads to more stable quality, more stable supply and less heavy metals. Ascophyllum- or Ecklonia-based competitors often rely on wild harvesting, which is less cost-effective and can come with long-term regulatory issues. The kelp forest grows on underwater structures, where it can reach up to 15 meters. The canopy, or the first meter at the surface, is then trimmed every 3-4 months.
